So I was thinking today...What would happen if the world were to be reduced to an eternal sunset, would the beauty of it be lost as it becomes a normal occurance. With our senses so saturated with the swirls and colours, would we cease to appreciate the magnificence of such an event?

In life there are deffinatly ups and downs along the way. It is a great time when you can say, "I know that I went through all those times so I could be who I am right now." Loved by God and knowing that serving Him will be like know other a adventure.

Well, if the world were reduced to an eternal sunset (and ignoring the global problems and logistics with the implied physics of such an event), I think the first thing we'd do is develop creepy looking eyes to allow for the lower amount of light. Bigger pupils and such. We'd all be a little pastier too. As to the appreciation bit, how often do you notice the beauty of an overcast day in the Lower Mainland? That may sound crazy, but I think we view it as an ugly thing because we see it far too often. There is a beauty there that we've forgotten. Or never discovered.

Nerfherder has a good point. I grew up all over north america, ontario, the south eastern states, alberta and the list goes on. Anyhow to make a long story short I moved to BC and was absolutly astounded and the Beauty and majesty of the mountains. everyday I looked, not matter the weather, it was so beautiful. Sadly, as the years have gone by the poignancy of that beauty has faded. Now the mountains are just part of the horizon to me. Now only every once and a while I look at them and see something wonderful. I imagine an unending sunset would be much the same. No matter how many different sunsets you see, if thats all you see eventually you will hunger for that cloudy lower mainland day.
